Taiwan Day 4 : Part 2

We headed on to the Former British Consulate Residence at Dagou. If you are history lover, then you should love this place. Built by the British Government, it is the earliest existing western style architecture in Taiwan.

It's located at the peak of the hill of the National Sun Yat-Sen University's sourthern side. Pity to the aunties and uncle because we had to climb hundreds of stairs before we reach this historical buildings.

There's even a fine cafe for you to have meals, sip a cup of tea or coffee while enjoy the romantic atmosphere and look out over the Port of Kaohsiung.

Next destinations was the Love River, one of the Kaohsiung's signature tourist attraction. I would recommend you to stroll along this riverbanks at night for the beautiful and romantic river scenery when all the colourful neon lights is being turn on.

Seriously, I never knew this place is Love River and I keep wondering at the very first place why the local tour guide did not brought us there until I was doing this entry yesterday *knock my head to the wall*. I didn't pay any attention to the local tour guide was all because of this....

Oh my gosh! 2 adorable cutie little dogs.

Hugging like for more than half hours but I still don't want to let go.

Can't deny that I am a dog lover. Everytime while walking on the road, if I did see any dogs especially on these cutie little dog, I just feels like want hug them like a baby. Do check out my previous post on sightseeing for dogs while I was travelling in Wales (click here and here).

And also at the same while writing this entry, I am missing these 2 lazy bump:

Meet Rosy (German Shepherd breed) and Guci (Shih Tzu breed)

But I miss the most is this small but chubby fattie puppy. Always brighter my every single day. 2 more months before I get to see you ^_^

A night would be incomplete in Taiwan without visiting one of their night market. Liouho Night Market, a must visit night market located in Southern Taiwan. Liouho Night Market was awarded the "Most Glamorous Night Market" prize for the categories of night market selection.

Thank God on that night, the local tour guide given us more time for us to venture around this night market. I had shared this in my previous post "Taiwan's Night Markets & Food" but I love to do it again especially for the new readers.

Taiwan Day 4 : Part 1

Let's continue with my travel stories around Taiwan again!

I guess during the fourth day of this Taiwan trip, just in 1 day, we went more than 5 places. Therefore, I divided into 2 3 parts to avoid this entry packed with tons of photos. Another reason is that I can save for the next blog entry.

After visiting the most beautiful Lotus Lake (click here), stopby this shop for a while to buy the famous pineapple soft cookies. Absolutely love this and I bought 5 boxes. One box contains 10 small pack of pineapple soft cookies cost NST300 which approximately to RM30. Consider quite pricey but it really taste nice.

Pick the products you want, pay them and the staff will send all the items that being bought back to hotel in Taipei. Incredible service.

Recognise who she was?

None other than the most famous female singer ever in Chinese communities around the world, Teresa Teng. Visiting Teresa Teng Memorial Museum is totally out of the itinerary but from what I can see in this short visit was the most favourable and interesting part especially to those uncle and aunties including my mother.

So adorable when she was small.

The museum not only primarily showcases Teresa Teng’s posters and pictures but also the dresses she wore, personal belongings, private collections, bed and car.

Her stunning and magnificent dresses especially her cheongsam.

Oh ya! The admission to this museum is free.

Lunch time! This is what we have almost everyday for the trip. 9 meals twice a day - lunch and dinner.

Then I spotted Hello Kitty souvenir shop nearby the restaurant. There is even a Hello Kitty cafe but I didn't went in for a try because was too full with the lunch.

At first place, I told my mom that this tour agent that we joined for this Taiwan trip was different from the one we joined during the trip to Beijing, China but I was wrong. All the tour agents are just the same, where they like to con you by bringing you to some of the particular shop to promote and persuade you to buy their products. One of this was:

To con those ladies but not me, no interested with these at all.

Sometimes I quite dislike joining tour agent. Consider to blog about this issue when I have time for me to do.

Lotus Lake - Dragon and Tiger Tower & Spring and Autumn Pagodas

Lotus Lake located on the northern outskirts of Kaohsiung is noted for its famous scenic area and beautiful view. There are more than 20 temples in the neighborhood, therefore it is being described as "temple everywhere" in this area.

Dragon and Tiger Tower

Dragon and Tiger Tower is one of the most well-known temples around the Lotus Lake. According to the local tour guide, entering the dragon's mouth which is the entrance and exit from the tiger's mouth symbolises turning bad luck to good fortune.

Spring and Autumn Pagodas

About 700 meters away from the Dragon and Tiger Tower are the Spring and Autumn Pavilions.

In front of these two massive pavilions, is a statue of Goddess of Mercy or known as "Guanyi" in Chinese riding a dragon. According to the legend, Guanyin appeared above the clouds riding on a dragon, signifying that believers must erect an image depicting this event between pavilions of summer and autumn. These two pagodas linked by a "nine turns bridge" represent of traditional Chinese octagonal architecture.

There are few shops nearby this area that selling souvenirs and local fruits too. Some of the items which I didn't manage to shop at the night market, I shop at here such as postcards, "I ♥ TW" T-shirt and more. And at here too, finally I managed to get the answer I was curious about from the local. "Why they guess that we are from Malaysia instead guessing other place?"
