MATTA Fair Sabah 2013

One of the event that I won't miss out if I am around Sabah - non other than MATTA Fair, the no.1 travel and tourism fair in Malaysia. I went two years ago (click HERE) but as for last year, I didn't went because I was away for my trip. Fret not, cause MATTA Fair is happened annually and this year, it happened again for three days this year, starting from 5th of July until 7th of July at Suria Sabah.

MATTA Fair Sabah 2013 01
#1: Most of the booths are located on basement floor

I can see this year MATTA Fair Sabah is mostly dominated by Malaysia Airlines. But as for AirAsia, Royal Brunei or even Malindo Air, I didn't spotted any of them this year. Wondering why?

#2: Impressive exhibition booth of the world class airline located at the ground floor

If you need advise, tips and guides, there are few booths of these tourim organisation to help in answering all your doubts and queries.

Besides that, this year exhibition booth for cruises are getting more and more compare to last few years. Mainly because the well-known cruise operator, Genting Hong Kong's Star Cruises will soon to homeport in Kota Kinabalu in this coming November.

#8: Trafalgar Cruise

Besides cruises line, I also noticed that Muslim Packages in this fair are getting popular and offered by most of the travel agencies.

#9: Affordable and friendly Muslim Package

MATTA Fair Sabah 2013 10
#10: Tabung Haji Travel Service - Never knew about this until now

Oriental countries like Taiwan, Japan, China, Hong Kong & Korea seems to be the most popular and almost everyone favourite travel packages like every other years. Whereas Indochina countries like Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar seems to be limited of choices. Eventhough most of the offers were focus on outbound packages especially, there are few inbound available but not as much choices compare to the outbound packages.

MATTA Fair Sabah 2013 11
#11: Borneo Rainforest Lodge - Adventure to Danum Valley

MATTA Fair Sabah 2013 12
#12: Borneo Paradise Holidays for Borneo Hospitality

To be frank, I kinda prefer the one that held in Kuala Lumpur cause there are more booth especially on the  tourism board such as Japan and Thailand and even on the Korea Tourism Organisation booth itself, I tends to get more information, tips and guidance from them. My experience on MATTA Fair KL 2011 - click HERE.

So for all KKians, what are you waiting for? Head over to Suria Sabah within this weekend to search for your perfect and ideal getaway that comes in a great and best travel deals during this MATTA Fair.

Met United Buddy Bears For Second Time

Nowadays, social media network like Facebook, Twitter and even Blog are spreading news way too fast than the newspaper and even in television and radio. All you need to do is snap a photo and post. Done just by few clicks. I can't recall how I came across about United Buddy Bears happened to be in Kuala Lumpur early of this year but I'm for sure it must be somewhere from social media network. Seems like I am the last blogger to blog about this.

So before flying off to Phuket early of this year, I stopped by KL for a day and keep telling to my friend that I wanna meet all of these two meter tall fibreglass bears. Afterall, I met United Buddy Bears for the first time when I was in Berlin, Germany back in yer 2008 and therefore, I am so desperate wanna meet them again for the second time.

United Buddy Bears @ KL
I only knew there is a merchandise store located on the 5th floor after I went back to KK =="

United Buddy Bears @ KL 01
Located in front of the entrance of Pavilion KL and I to see the United Buddy Bears surrounding the fountain.

United Buddy Bears @ KL 02
The unique among the others with holding heart between the two golden bears. ♥♥♥

United Buddy Bears @ KL 03
Unlike the experience I had in Berlin where the bear sculptures are scattered around, this exhibition was displayed at one point and it makes thing easier where you take photo or even hug with them without worrying that you might miss out any of them.

United Buddy Bears @ KL 04
These bears are indeed so colourful and attractive to anyone who passby Pavilion.

United Buddy Bears @ KL 05
Say "Peace" as this is one of the message that United Buddy Bears wanna spread out to the world.

United Buddy Bears @ KL 08
"Angry Bear" I assume...

United Buddy Bears @ KL 07
My very close and best friend, Chris with one of her favourite bear.

These bears are everywhere...

Or even on your right

Met Eisenstein bear for the second time. This is one and only bear sculptures that I snapped for the second time. The rest are extremely a whole new experience to me.

United Buddy Bears @ KL 12
The first and virgin appearance of our own Malaysian United Buddy Bear. This is its first time experience joining the other bear sculptures on the globe-trotting mission.

United Buddy Bears @ KL 13

Unfortunately, I didn't managed to take as many photo as I want with all of these United Buddy Bears cause my friend and I are rushing for last minute shopping in Pavilion. Hunting for a wedding gift for my friend whose wedding will be held a week after my Phuket trip and also last minute to search for a new pair of sunglasses cause mine was broken before my island getaway even started. Deng! I can't live without sunglasses everytime I'm on travelling especially to the island.

United Buddy Bears @ KL 14
Goodbye United Buddy Bears. Till then, hope to see you all again!

And if you're asking which of these bears are my favourite, I would definitely say "ALL OF THEM!".

Time for Taiwan

Taiwan is recent tourism spot for Malaysian nowadays. I still recalled when I went Taiwan last year, most of the local asked whether are we Malaysian. I was curious why they guess Malaysia instead of Singapore or other nearby countries, thus I asked the local. They said Malaysian had came and visit Taiwan for non-stop since from October until end of December. Oh ya! Not forgetting my friend cum blogger, Mei Tzeu who is going to Taiwan next week. Have a wonderful and enjoyable trip there.

35th Bon Odori 2011 Arigatou Malaysia

Last Saturday (not the yesterday Saturday), my housemate invited me to go Bon Odori Festival with her and her friends. Eventually, I ever heard of this festival before as my friend ever uploaded her photos of attending this event in facebook. But when I saw it was 35th celebration of Bon Odori festival in Malaysia, I was kinda shocked because when I was college student back in few years ago in KL, none of my friends ever told me or discuss about this event before. I wonder why.

Anyway, I was kinda excited and can't wait to tag along my baby (my Canon Ixus 130) to this event.

Bon Odori 2011 01

Basically, Bon Odori is a Japanese traditional dance and this traditional comes from Buddhism in China. It is celebrated as a reminder of the gratefulness one should feel toward one’s ancestors.

Bon Odori 2011 02

This event held at Panasonic Sports Complex, Shah Alam and seriously speaking, my housemate and I never been to Shah Alam before. But she attempted the risk of driving all along from Wangsa Maju to Shah Alam and all she can ever rely on was the direction printed from Google maps. Luckily the direction given is accurate, or else I can't think the worst part.

The event start at 7pm but by 5pm, the parking space is full and we had to park extremely far away. Once we enter, directly we hunt for foods instead of searching for seats. Guess all of us were too hungry that moment.

Bon Odori 2011 (1)

Variety of foods and drinks especially most are served in Japanese cuisine. Yummy yummy~

The crowd at 5.30 pm

The stage where the traditional dance is going to perform.

Bon Odori 2011 05

As we saw there are still more seats available, we went back to hunt for more foods. Looks like our motives on that evening was focus on foods, rather than the festival itself.

Bon Odori 2011 (2)
I had two ice-creams on that evening but I damn love the one on the left hand-side. It costs RM6 and it is very similar to the fish shaped ice-cream which sell in Sushi Tei, Suria Sabah that cost RM13. It is extremely expensive, right? I ever search for this kind of ice-cream in Kota Kinabalu but too bad, I unable to hunt any of them. Have any of you any idea where can I can this ice-cream in KL?

Bon Odori 2011 06
The crowd at 6.45 pm and immediately we try to find the best spot so that we able to watch the performance.

Bon Odori 2011 07
And there it begins...

Honestly to tell you that I am using a normal Canon compact camera, not those high and professional DSLR camera. So, this is what I able to capture during the performance.

Even the audience were dancing along

Bon Odori 2011 16
They are real Japanese little girls wearing yukata. Kawaii neh~

All I can said that this KL version of Bon Odori is not much happening compare to the one which I bumped into one of the blogger who post of this event too but it happens at Penang. However, if you got the chance, you should go at least once to expose the Japanese culture, art, dance and not forgeting the foods too. =P

Small Note: This week is my third week of study but tons of mock test and homework given. Sometimes, it makes me miss my previos working life. Done with this post and now I am going to do revision for my upcoming test. Have a great day everyone!
